Policies and Procedures 

Appointments- For bridal and special occasion wear, we require calling 6-8 weeks before the event to ensure the best appointment availability. If your appointment is scheduled less than the required weeks before pickup, an additional rush fee will be applied at the first fitting.

-Please be prompt for each appointment. Clients may be required to reschedule if they arrive more than 15 minutes late.

-Clients are required to bring the shoes and undergarments that will be worn on the day of the event to ensure the correct fit. The appointment will have to be rescheduled otherwise. Heavenly Stitches takes no responsibility for poor fit if the client fails to bring these items.

-Appointments must be made for try-on consultations and there is a non-refundable $50 fee for that service. If you choose to proceed with the alterations, the fee will go toward the price of the alterations.

-Wedding gowns typically require 1-3 appointments. Bridesmaids, mother-of-the-bride, special occasions, typically require 1-2 appointments. However, there could be more or less depending on the amount of alterations needed.

Fittings- Again, you must bring the appropriate shoes and undergarments with you to your first fitting.

-Your measurements and heel height will be taken during the first fitting. Services will be provided based on these measurements. Heavenly Stitches will not be responsible for any garments that does not fit properly due to weight loss or gain, pregnancy, surgery, failure to wear the same shoes or undergarments from the first fitting, etc. Any changes in the client's measurements after the second fitting which causes additional or different services to be rendered are subject to additional charges. Also, any structural changes to a garment that are requested 2 weeks prior to the wear date will incur additional charges as well as a $100 rush fee.

-Heavenly Stitches will execute the alterations discussed once the client agrees to the terms and conditions and also expresses acknowledgement that altering a garment is a deliberate modification and not all alterations can be undone. Our seamstresses are professionals, they may advise against certain structural changes that may compromise the integrity of your garments.

-After the first fitting, if you decide not to continue with alterations, you will be charged a pinning fee of $50 and all pins will be removed from the garment.

Pricing- At the first fitting, the client is required to pay Heavenly Stitches a fifty percent (50%) non-refundable deposit of the total cost before any services are provided.

-The final balance is payable upon completion. All accounts must be paid in full before the client's garment can be released. Costs for services are subject to variation based on the work required. Alteration costs for wedding gowns are as follows:

  • Hems-           start at $250

  • Bustles-         start at $140

  • Side Seams- start at $150

  • Bra cups-      $25

  • Straps-          start at $25

  • Shoulders-    start at $65

  • ​

Alteration costs for bridesmaids/special occasions are as follows:

  • Hems-           start at $70

  • Side seams-  start at $65

  • Straps-          start at $25

  • Shoulders-    start at $55

Pickup- By leaving Heavenly Stitches with your completed alterations, the client is agreeing that all work was done completely and to their satisfaction and that Heavenly Stitches and its seamstresses are no longer responsible for the gown. The client shall inspect the garment upon final fitting and pick-up. Heavenly Stitches is not responsible for fit and wear once the garment leaves the premises. This includes, but is not limited to wrinkling, stains, bustles falling out from being stepped on, and wear and tear from ceremony and/or reception, etc. Final pick-ups are interpreted as acceptance.

-Client is required to give expressed permission and consent to allow another party to pick up the garment on their behalf. Acceptance of and satisfaction with the services shall automatically be deemed to have occurred upon the earlier of client or surrogate receipt of garment.

-We strongly discourage trying on your garment at the time of pickup if it has been pressed and/or steamed. It is ready for your special event and may wrinkle from additional handling and wearing.
